Paddling adventure along the Winnegance

It's early morning and you and a friend have started the day's adventure on the Winnegance. You're on  the same route that early American Indians used to traverse the peninsula.

Along the way you look for ospreys, moose, beaver, herons, and cormorants that frequent the area. They are what the locals call "Creek Creatures." Your trusty 35mm camera is within arm's reach.

The 3 1/2 mile long Winnegance is before you. Along the way, the breeze picks up. You recall that a local told you that the Indians named the creek Winnegance, whose literal translation is "Wind Against." The breeze to your face will make the return trip that much easier.

Rounding a bend, you come upon a family out for their own canoe adventure. The creek is shallow and well protected, making it ideal for families with children. Many small coves invite exploration. You wave as they slowly ease by.

We believe that the Winnegance Creek is a perfect place for paddling adventure. It is accessible from I-95 just 15 minutes away, and the price to enjoy a paddling day is very reasonable. A true nature experience, catering to introductory level participants. Although just 15 minutes from I-95 interstate, it is a well preserved area of nature that looks much like it did in days of old.
